Sun Plaza opened since mid-2004 and has been attracting visitors even before the mall officially opened. This mall was built not far from many public facilities, ranging from Government Offices (Office of Governor of North Sumatra), school (SMA Negeri 1 Medan), houses of worship (Masjid Agung Medan, the largest mosque in the Medan), to a residential (Apartments Cambridge). Strategic location make this easy to reach shopping and visited many many, not the exception of tourists both in and outside the country.Architects and building designers intend to realize this place is not just function as a shopping location, but the colored container community spirit, or confidence will be a better future. They want to create a place in which people can gain experience, and integrates with the architecture of the existence of the visitors and leave an impression. Ideas developed in the design process aims to build a positive attitude to everyone who visits the Sun Plaza. In addition to the fasad form and elements of the building, the spirit is also expressed through eight fruit sculpture human figures in the main entrance, which welcomes visitors with a variety of dynamic postures.
